“Joy is the serious business of Heaven.” - C.S. Lewis
In his letter to the Philippians, Paul encourages the church to rejoice in spite of their circumstances. Having written it while he was suffering in prison, Paul’s letter is an encouraging example of how putting Jesus at the center of our lives produces unstoppable joy.

We may be a little biased on this one, but Chad’s story is worth telling to those who find it difficult to have hope and joy when life takes its unexpected turns.
“Man’s Search for Meaning” - Viktor E. Frankl
Imprisoned in four different Nazi death camps over the course of his life, Frankl’s account of his own life and the lives of others shows us that when we find the meaning in our suffering, we can also discover joy.

Spafford penned this famous hymn on a ship headed from England to America. His wife and four children had made the trip prior to him when their ship was hit by another, only Spafford’s wife survived. As he sailed over the spot where the wreck happened, Spafford wrote “It is Well With My Soul”. We are reminded that whatever trial we face our soul’s hope is in Christ alone.
